Canistel is sometimes calledd egg-fruit because of the color and the consistency of the flesh resembles egg-yolk. The Bruce variety of egg-fruit is creamy and moderately sweet and less chalky than some of the other other varieties. It is delicious in smoothies and is great for making ice cream.
